Maria Cristina Maggio has been an active part of the Vasculitis Study Group of the PRES (Pediatric Rheumatology European Society) since 2015. She has been a member of the Sports Medicine Commission of the Italian Society of Pediatrics since 2010.
Maria Cristina Maggio was a founding member of the "e-Health" Commission of the Italian Society of Pediatrics in 2012. She is a lecturer for the I level master "Advanced Skills in Pediatric Nursing" of the University of Palermo.
Maria Cristina Maggio organized and managed, in collaboration with Professor Corsello, a Pediatric Rheumatology portal, on the website of the Italian Society of Pediatrics, dedicated to doctors, patients and associations at a national level. It was an active part of the scientific committee organized by the Italian Society of Pediatrics for the revision of Italian guidelines for therapeutic management and follow-up of patients with Kawasaki disease, guidelines published in an indexed journal.
She also participated in the national board on the implementation of the "transition care" projects, for adolescents suffering from chronic rheumatology.
