Dr. Yuting Tan's research interests broadly involve in cancer, stem cell, and aging. During her Ph.D. research, she studied the epigenetic mechanisms of acute myeloid leukemia in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Then she joined the University of California, San Francisco, as a joint Ph.D. student for two years, during which she studied the differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells into hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells. Also, she manipulated the CRISPR/Cas9 tool to disrupt the drug resistance of leukemic oncogenes.
After her Ph.D. study, she was trained as a rotated resident in Rui Jin Hospital, where she studied the cancer immunotherapy for blood diseases and acquired the aspiration of studying cancer and aging. Therefore, she moved to Boston and became the research fellow in Massachusetts General Hospital affiliated with Harvard Medical School to study cancer and aging. Yuting Tan's research goal is to extend the life expectancy of a human being with delayed aging and the absence of cancer.
